Kick-off of the ParlAgE Project

At the start of July, Institute of Contemporary History (INZ) in Ljubljana hosted the kick-off meeting of the bilateral research project ParlAgE – Parliament in the Age of Europeanisation. This two-day event brought together an interdisciplinary team of experts from the Czech Republic and Slovenia, who used the opportunity to discuss the analytical methods and streamline the research questions.

The ParlAgE project aims to apply a comparative perspective to the study of how the Czech and Slovenian parliaments evolved during the years of Europeanisation (1993–2004), and how attitudes toward the EU and its representation in the national contexts have shifted over time. By combining historiographical research with Digital Humanities methods, the project will offer new insights into parliamentary decision-making, political representation, and the dynamic relationship between national legislatures and the European Union—insights that are essential also for understanding today’s changing political landscape.
